Dis Count says:

in 1991 I bought a TAG formula 1 for $275 …….in 2017 the same watch in good condition is selling for $450 +………….they were more distinctive from other brands back then and theyre still in business because of it

Teamhonn says:

Any change you could make your videos in front of a different picture? Don’t really need to look at a boys junk.

mrfuriouser says:

Ha! I had to laugh, I have the first formula one Tag you showed. I love it! Great casual watch, still dead-on accurate and never any issues. It is very strong as well. There is no accounting for personal taste, as they say.

Hartley Hare says:

you hate em, i love em! opinions are like arseholes, we’ve all got one!✔☻

Knives&Lint says:

Great content, I agree with all 5 of those and couldn’t have said it better myself.  I’m looking forward to the next video.  I too have a love/hate relationship with the brand.  I have had 3 TAGs pass through the collection, and I agree that many of the detractors are likely judging the brand by the Formula 1 and might have never experienced the quality present in the Carrera and some Aquaracers.  I don’t currently own any TAGs but I think I might add another in the future, probably one of the Heuer re-release models they are doing.

Lawrence Rogers says:

I agree with you about their quartz pricing. Much to much. I was interested in a Quartz Aquaracer, a very nice design but I just walked away when I saw the price. I did buy a Senna Quartz because I liked the design. I paid too much for it and it’s resale value now has plummeted. I will never sell the watch but somebody else would take a big hit with this watch if they wanted to sell.

ExperiencedRC says:

If they are selling well, it’s not overpriced.

Charles Wilson says:

I’ve been a Tag owner (925.206G) for 24 yrs. When you own a Tag, you tend to follow the company more closely. So, I have to agree with Mr. Anders on all counts. Tag Heuer seemed to have lost direction in the 90s. Bright colored plastic-looking watch bands and dials cheapened the watch brand. Tag watches seemed liked they were making them for grade school children. I couldn’t bring myself to buy a new one. And as Anders noted, “Tag began selling very expensive quartz watches!”. I could not see the value in paying $1300 for a Formula One “quartz” watch. I tried to determine other value in a quartz watch, but no gold dial or heavy electroplated gold, just basic quartz watches that Tag was leg-breaking for 1 – 2 thousand dollars. And as Mr. Anders keenly observed, “Tag took forever to turn around a bad marketing shift.” Good job pointing out how Tag Heuer got off course. One thing that I noticed lately about Tag, they have altered their instantly recognizable green/red logo to all blue or white. Keep it the same!! Could you imagine Rolex dropping their iconic 5-point crown logo?

MrAlexvender says:

till 4 yo you were shitting in your pants – and i hate you for that.

Felix The Cat says:

WAY211C.BA0928 should I buy this watch?

mikiithe13th says:

Before I liked tag heuer because I really didn’t know the quality of watches they produce, and not knowing luxury watches, I always thought of them as next to Rolex due to their marketing. Once I owned one, which was a quartz chrono F1, I noticed how lousy their bracelets were and at the price point, I’m still having a quartz watch didnt really make sense. After 3 months of owning, I sold it and bought an omega seamaster 300 ceramic and never looked back… At that price point (where tag heuer is), it’s either go to ORIS on the low <1500USD side, or go Tudor on the >1500USD…

Ernest Sherman says:

Great video! Although I would agree that some of the old quartz watches were cheap and some quite ugly, along with the shameful advertising, they were made to be able to compete with the newer quartz watches that catered to the demographic of the common man (which is prevalent with the design and material choices at that time). Love them or hate them, the ugly, cheap and eccentric watches (though I think the WA1214 is quite nice in my eyes) were a necessary evil to keep them in that market; without those watches, we wouldn’t have some of the nicer looking watches we have today.

northlander says:

get on with it .

Arthur Serino says:

Everything I hate about TAG Heuer can be summed up in three letters…

hikaru ichijyo says:

hi, i had a gold WH514 chronometer with an aligator strap and it was very beautiful, i love that watch until i have to part with it for some reason, now im looking at the market for the same one again but very hard to find. thank you for this video.

i just started my new watch buy research. this video is very helpful. like to know both positives and negatives. keep it up this approach.

Jeffrey KRUPA says:

Yeah, TH sure does draw a lot of hate from the hive-mind of the “Community”. Just another good reason to wear one imo!

Fred Calabrese says:

The ’90s TAG Heuer watches looked like Swatch.

D Garrido says:

Great video ! Heuer chronographs are beautiful. Good points

Benjamin Low says:

Carrera: Except for the few models with gilded arabic numerals, they look quite generic. Nicely executed, but lacking in identity.

Aquaracer: The past two generations of the metal bezel ones are nice, but far too heavy. The latest incarnation also has a dial that’s too chunky and busy.

Ney Dogg says:

The 90s was bad for alot of things. I think Tag Heuer might have been trying to complete with Swatch
