This blue dial Patek Philippe Calatrava Pilot Travel Time was released in 2015. It drew inspiration from museum timepieces and Patek Philippe history. It is substantial for a Calatrava at 42mm across the case. It is just thinner than 11mm thick. The lug to lug span is 50.5mm and is not oversized.

The travel time pushers seem counter intuitive to me as well. I would think the top one would advance the hour hand. I think I could get used to it though 😉

Congrats on the new camera Tim.
With regard to the watch, I strongly believe Patek should start creating more stainless steel models like JLC has done. This watch is beautiful, but at over $50k it seems they only cater to the very wealthy and the enthusiastic hobbyist that know more about this watch than in most cases the person buying it does, is left drooling. I don’t mean to sound sour, but I think Patek could make this in stainless steel at half the price, that would be a little more realistic. Let’s be real, a pilot won’t wear a $50k watch, that doesn’t help his flight preparation in any way.

Great review as always!

Weird Science says:

Too big for a Patek, IMO.

I will hopefully own this piece in my life it’s definitely one of my grail picks.

James Shives says:

Looks like it could be a 7-800 dollar watch, except it’s Patek Phillipe, and it’s $60k. I actually really like the styling… a bit different from the normal, hyper-luxurious, wealthy look. Only problem is, while Im sure the watch is worth the money to those who can afford it, it just doesnt look like a 60,000 dollar watch. Hah, Id sooner buy a brand new bmw m2, and still have money left over for a Rolex Explorer. If this watch wasn’t a high horology watch from perhaps the most presitgious brand in the world, and cost around $700, I would actually be very interested. I really like the styling.

absolute grail material
