Chopard is well respected as a jewelery company, but not as a watchmaker. However, this is changing as Chopard has opened Chopard Manufacture and begun a high horology watch category, L.U.C. Likewise, it has begun replacing external movement with strong horology of their own manufacture. So in addition to great jewelry Chopart is on a path to high horology and complete movement manufacture.

Hi Bill sir great tutorial of chopard I like most thought they made fancy ladies trinkets and stuck a load of zeros on the price .I’ve seen recently that Apple have sold 34 million smart watches ?,I’ve seems this could be as bad if not worse than the quartz arrival .I’ve think any top end makers will move to in house movement’s in the belief it’s the only way they might survive. Watch collectors are demanding more than a basic Eta movement polished up and passed as luxury. Thats 34 million watch buyers getting their grail piece for a lot less than it costs for a rolex service. I THINK watch collecting will soon be like art collecting only for the haves. The have nots will be content with smart watches or quartz?

“EXCELLENT” REVIEW OF CHOPARD … Thought Chopard & Cartier were only Luxury Ladies Timepieces … Live & Learn … But your comment on the Mille “REASONABLY Priced” At $ 5,000 took my Breath Away, “Holy Guacamole” I can buy a used 1998 Cadillac Eldorado for that Price … Started collecting one year ago when my biggest expense was a $ 500 Citizen or Seiko, then I started watching your YouTube Vids … After a few classes on Haute Horology “Reasonable” for me Now is a $ 3,600 Gold Lacroix Retro Calendar (Don’t tell my Wife) … I know it’s the Elephant in the room, but if we Promise Not to tell your Wife, what’s your biggest expense on a Timepiece & what was it (or tell me the Vid you reviewed it in, please) ??? Just to give me ideas for a future Grail. Great Vid, Thanks, Major Jim, USMC
