Audemars Piguet definitely presented one of the most interesting timepiece of this SIHH with the RD2. This ultra thin perpetual calendar is still a concept watch, but it should come out probably next year.
The team of Audemars Piguet have reimagined some key components of the traditional QP in order to achieve this spectacular result and reduce the overall size and thickness of this movement.
But the brand showed us some other watches as you will be able to enjoy in this video report.

Gorgeous time pieces more like art than just a watch.
First one is very beautiful, but AP should come out with something new…soon they (at list basic models) will look boring as Hublot
Of all these, I like the tourbillion with the interesting dial the most. Thanks for the video!
You have such great access to industry insiders Marc Andre. Thanks for the great SIHH coverage.
I really like the frosted watches but I could never pull it off, too blingy
The skeleton winding weight is an amazing detail! To a very beautiful ⌚!
Sorry to go off at a tangent but the singer at the start of these SIHH videos has such a powerful and beautiful voice. If you have recorded it may we see her singing a little more?
Awesome interview with Oliver Audemars, who gets straight into the truly cool new mens, womens, and unisex AP watches.
The offerings for all types is great, and I love how open Oliver is about this.
I heard about the Audemars Piguet Ref: RD#2, from articles during SIHH 2018, and I’m blown away by this ultra thin perpetual calander, and it looks wearable on smaller wrists! Absolutely want to hold one and demo on my wrist!
This is amongst my grail list of timepieces I’d love to have, alongside Piguet Altiplano Concept!
The three new AP 2018 Royal Oak Tourbillon Extra-Thin series, with proprietary ‘Tapisserie Evolutive’ sunray dials, are stunners: the cool sunburst square guilloche looks amazing, and yeah I can see why it takes time to make just the dial using older machinery by hand.
The thinness is also brilliant to me.
Of this series, I rank my favourites in order of:
– Platinum with blue baguette diamond gemsetting in bezel, and smoked blue Tapisserie Evolutive dial.
Ref: 26521PT.YY.1220PT.01
– Stainless Steel and plum (purple) Tapisserie Evolutive dial.
Ref: 26522ST.OO.1220ST.01
– 18K Pink Gold with blue Tapisserie Evolutive dial.
Ref: 26522OR.OO.1220OR.01
AP’s new and absolutely stunning white gold + diamonds Ladies’ Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon (Ref: 26227BC.ZZ.D011CR.01) is a genius hybrid of femininity and masculinity, going beyond simple gemsetting and pink hues as others do.
However, I LOVE the new 2018 Frosted Gold + Opal dial Millenary (Ref: 77244OR.GG.1272OR.01), with mother-of-pearl dials; GORGEOUS!
Lovely coverage as always Marc and TheWATCHES.tv team!

love this chanel, such an exclusive pice of kit 🙂
Pure art M, AP is such class and so vibrant!
I’ll take the RD-2 when you’re ready 🙂
That frosted gold is killing me love it! ap got me now only the price for normale man like me is way to high. Butt nice stuff
This man must learn to english 🙂 me too 🙂
Audemars piguet=Royal Oak
I wish AP would create something that is not a RO derivate and would be desirable enough to spend the money they are asking. The rest of the lineup from AP… forget about that.
sihh 2018is very fantastic
I don’t care if the second watch is for ladies, I want it. Is very very beautiful. A real and wonderful master piece. Greatness.
AP is so boring omg
The platinum jumbo looks superb.
As well as the ceramic offshore with tourbillon.
Unfortunately not to see in the vid 🙂
All watches are beautifully finished but the royal oak concept is so repetitive…….they need to come up with a new concept.
I love the women Royal Oak Concept. Is totally crazy. And I would like to know more about the new perpetual calendar because there are no much info about it arround the web. Great video again.
I really like AP but as others said it’s imho too much Royal Oak since many years and therefore the whole interview seemed to be a lot of marketing “bla bla”. I didn’t feel the passion about their new products compared to other brands.
They presented nice variations, but what they are really doing imho is cashing in on the cow…
Where is the new Jules Audemars…? or rather when is it.
